Stair Gallery: Straight Most homes use straight stairs as they are fairly easy to build and they don't require as much floor space. Though they can represent
significant cost savings over curved or flared stairs, the possibilities
are far from For renovations or remote locations, we think you'll be pleased with our new, patented Stair Kit in a Box™, an adjustable closed stringer stair ready for you to assemble on site on your schedule! Depending on space requirements, a straight stair can be configured as:
Straight - Closed Stringers with Framed Knee Wall
Straight - Returned Treads
Straight - Stacked
Flare Stairs Flare stairs give the visual impact of a curve at a much lower cost. Usually the first 4 or 5 treads on one or both sides curve outward while the rest of the stair is straight. Requiring less floor space, a flare can fit in areas where a curve cannot. Angle stairs can turn a corner to also mimic a curve stair, although all sections are straight
